Wonder who yhe player in the dressin room that is causing problems is....Sharp would be the safe bet because of all the scuttlebutt from last year, but I'll go on limb and say that it is Crow...He is prolly throwing the D under the bus for leaving him out to dry, and they are probably doin it because they can't get over the fact that the guy listens to Rise Against

As much as you can put this skid on lack of personnel up the middle and defensively. I think it still comes down to the mental aspect with this group. The compete level has not been there, nor has the attention to detail. I hope some one gets moved bc something needs to wake the locker room out of its coma bc the losses keep piling up...

How about Legwand, Weircioch, Dal 2nd for Patty Sharp?

Super update. Thank you.

Disgruntled roulette... I'll play:

1) Sharp (last years rumor and now on 4th line 1/2 the time)... popular enough in the room to stir some muck.

2) Shaw. Just shut up since you got your contract and decided you were a skill player that doesn't need to hit.

3) Crow. However, I'd reverse this one a bit. I doubt there are many in that room that truly believe he is a quality keeper but know he is getting paid elite money.

IMO, Sharp trade is the shake-up this team needs. It would be a huge return as well, despite what others would say.

What teams would seriously be interested though? Who would we say the front runners would be? Canadiens are the one team that sticks out to me...

It really will be a shame if they deal Sharp at this time because I think the return would have been far greater in the summer. And at that time, they could have made a deal that betters this team for the now and the future.

Now, if they trade him, it will be to help re-correct the team now and for a playoffs run.

Sharp should have been dealt last summer, but wasn't. We all talk about trades we would make as GM's, but history with Bowman has shown, and as much as I will be disappointed to hear him say it, I just have this sickening feeling we are going to hear again.........."We like our team."

Oh...and just to chime in on something I read in yesterday's blog...people saying that Keith should be traded now, or during the summer for a "nice package" are nuts in my opinion....You will never get a d-man of his equal in return, and the style that the Hawks play has a lot to do with their d-men...U wanna get rid of Keith for prospects and solid vets? U know what will happen then? Take a look at yesterday's game after Oduya went down, train wreck...U would have games and moments like those on a nightly basis if u trade Keith....The d-men are ok 1-4..it is 5 and 6 that are killing this team, not to mention the bottom 6 fwds

So Q moans about no net presence now with all the fly by guys they have now. Why weren't the current fly by guys traded?
- KingB

HawkintheD responded: Who specifically? My point was if Jimmy Hayes had shown a penchant for it he'd still be here.

Which fly by guys and who are you trading instead?

Ya, Jimmy H really had a chance with 2 games last year and 10 games the previous year, and those were on limited minutes. Never really had a chance.

the drop off then cliff that is the play of #10 from last years playoffs and through this year is the biggest mystery of the year looking for a solution.

the "missed the finals by a bounce mantra" by management and many others was pure propaganda BS to be consumed for marketing reasons....many of us never bought it.

teams need surprises on the upside and need secondary roster players to take the next step. They got a couple surprises in TVR and versteeg but the bottom six moving parts have mostly been about the same (carcillo, bicks who is always a season no show) or regressed (krugs, smith, shaw) or have been shipped out (Morin, Clendening).

My speculation there is something internally (player conflict, personal issues) that has really messed with this team emotionally and morale wise.

If this "issue around a player in the locker room" is true, my guess would be either Sharp, or Bickell. Both guys who are nowhere close to earning their paycheques this year with their play, and the other guys in the room can see that obviously.

you are nutz....stanbow has his balls in a vice grip with no leverage...other GM's know it. Sharps performance has fallen off the cliff since his big push to make the olympics last year. The hawks have huge cap issues this year and into next year. Sorry no GM is going to the give the hawks a huge return for the sharp of previous years...its over.

so please inform us a scenario where the hawks get a huge return for #10 in the next week...

Interesting thing is the fly-by issue was there in October. Hawks got creamed in late Oct/early Nov and I've always wondered if there were a couple body bag skates after that?

Because from mid-Nov to Xmas this team was Cup bound.

Now the same issues are back.

PS... who was out from mid-Nov to just before Xmas? # 10. Coincidence?

Surprised McDumbass didn't try and market that...instead of:

ONE GOAL!

It could have been:

ONE BOUNCE or ONE BOUNCE AWAY!

Could not agree more.

Is it fair to lay all the blame at one players feet? Of course not, but his play along with Crawford's sure isn't helping.

If you could get both off the team by trade with a decent at best return, would you do it for the cap savings alone?

Wonder who the locker room problem is? Reminds me of when the Ducks gave away Dustin Penner. Ducks fans couldn't figure out dumping a player who had scored 20 or so goals. The next season during a STH event Ryan Getzlaf said things happen off the ice that can be a distraction for the kids on the team. And Penner was Getzlaf's friend who convinced Murray to sign him. My point is that the sooner the Hawks get rid of the problem the better, even if they don't get full value.

"one bounce, 2 blown offsides, a ref named Wes, a center named Zus"....

Sounds like marketing genius.
